About WikiCamera

WikiCamera is a plain record of cameras on sale at the store: mirrorless and DSLR bodies, compacts and point-and-shoots, bridge cameras, instant film cameras and action cameras, with or without a lens. Each page notes what the listing says about a camera and what it cost on the day we looked.

Read from the title, nothing added

The camera type, sensor size, resolution in megapixels, video capability, whether a lens comes in the box, and the lens mount are taken from the listing's own title and printed as the seller wrote them. When a title says nothing about the sensor or the video, that line stays empty. We read no sample image, we infer nothing from a photograph, and we do not convert one figure into another to make two bodies look alike.

Nobody here has taken a picture with one

No one on this site has shot a frame, run a lens test or timed an autofocus. You will find none of our own photographs here, no star ratings, and no verdicts on image quality, low-light noise or battery life, because we would be inventing them. A megapixel count on a listing is the seller's figure, and a figure like that says little about how a picture looks.

A price and the day it was read

Each price on WikiCamera is the store's own figure, printed with the date and time it was read. When a price grows too old to trust it comes off the page, and the store's page is where you confirm today's number before you buy.

How the site pays its way

WikiCamera is an Amazon Associate and earns a small commission when a purchase follows one of its links, which costs you nothing extra. A camera's place in a list follows its price and the filters you pick, never what a seller might pay us.

Guides set cameras side by side on stated specs and price. The Learn pages explain sensor sizes, lens mounts and video terms with the help of maker documentation and industry standards. How many cameras we cover is printed on the front page.
